Top Gun on the Midway

What is more awesome than watching Top Gun?
Watching Top Gun on an aircraft carrier! OH HELL YES! Last night my friends and labmates watched Top Gun the movie on the big screen. Of course only a San Diego aircraft carrier could host such an event: Top Gun pilot school is located in Miramar and much of the movie was filmed here. I recognized where some of the scenes took place. I definitely appreciate this movie more now than I did as a kid. There is a lot of adult humor which was way over my head. Also, as an adult I feel that I can now fully appreciate the HOTNESS of the actors who play Top Gun students. Val Kilmer vs. Tom Cruise in the locker room? More please! I am sure Sarah felt the same way when the movie came out in 1986. In fact, I am positive that the haircut my dad had in the late 80's was inspired by the Iceman character, and that my mom was the motivating force behind having the hairstyle.
